AWESOME WORK!!! After going through a lot of trouble to organize a meeting at my home, I was horrified to discover that only three hours before everyone was supposed to meet up for dinner, my bathroom sink was stopped up and it seemed Draino just wasn't getting the job done. A-1 Plumbing came in and took care of the clog, cleaned up after themselves, and the issue was fixed with plenty of time to spare. They're my new go-to guys.

What constitutes Indoor Air pollution?
The air in your home is polluted with particulate matter and odors. Particulate matter include inanimate particles such as dust, smoke, pollen, animal dander, particles generated from cooking; and biological particles such as dust mites, molds, bacteria and viruses. Gaseous odors include airborne compounds from stoves, vehicle exhaust, tobacco smoke, building materials, furnishings, and products such as adhesives, paints, varnishes, cleaning products and pesticides.
How to Protect Your Home from Indoor Pollution?
The best solution to clearing the air of your home is to employ a whole-house air purification system. A whole house or in-duct purification system cleans the home air as it travels through your heating and cooling ducts and before it mixes with the air you breathe. Home purification systems use as many as three types of filters to trap pollutants. The first filter captures the larger particles. The second filter captures smaller particles and uses carbon to trap odor causing gases.Tghe final filter called a HEPA filter cleans the home of 99.97 percent of all particles larger than 0.3 microns, particles that cause both allergies and odors. Different air cleaning systems offer additional features such as UV lamps that kill biological particulate matter trapped on the HEPA filter and special filters, which trap particles but avoid raising air pressure inside the air ducts. Each type of air cleaning system has a different efficiency rating. The HVAC technicians at A-1 Plumbing of Baltimore will help you select an air cleaning system that is suitable for your home.
Why Regulate the Humidity in Your Home?
Too much or too little humidity can damage the air quality of your house. Too much moisture can cause condensation on your windows, and wet spots on your walls. Mold will begin to grow and over time the home will develop a musty odor. These changes can aggravate asthma and allergies. Too little moisture can dry up the nasal mucous membranes and cause nosebleeds. It can cause a scratchy throat and breathing difficulties. It can cause too much static electricity in the house and subsequent troubles with your electronic equipment. Over time low humidity can damage fabrics, furniture and wood work.
How to Regulate the Humidity in Your Home
You can regulate the humidity in your home using either local or whole home humidification. Portable de-humidifiers are fraught with problems. De-humidifiers work best at 80-85 degrees. When trying to remove humidity from the air in the basement, they are often ineffectual because basement temperature is frequently closer to 60 degrees. Some people make the mistake of over using their ari conditioner in the summer to compensate for the high humidity. This creates cold moist air which leads to condensation damage. Central humidifier/dehumidifiers correctly control the moisture levels of the home. As an added benefit, once the humidity is lowered, occupants feel comfortable at a higher temperature.
